and Date of Birth: Born in Aramoun, Lebanon, on August 10, 1952. Son of Shafic
Yehia.

Marital status: Married to Amal Aaref,
with four children: Nadine, Amine, Nour, Nassab.
Education: Joined the Military Academy on September 22, 1971. His education also includes a Degree in Law from the Lebanese
Univeristy in 1980.
Training Courses and Certificates: Holds certificates from: The Federal
Investigations' Office (1980); the FBI in Bramshill/USA; the British Police Academy in
criminal justice and police administration (1997); and the Interpol headquarters in
Lyon/France in intelligence of criminal analysis. Member of the International
Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IALEIA, 2000). Participated in
several criminal and security conventions in Australia, UAE, Jordan, Egypt, France,
Hungary, Canada.
Military career: Promoted to Lieutenant on August 1, 1974, to First
Lieutenant on January 1, 1978, to Captain on July 1, 1983, to Major on January 1, 1978, to
Lieutenant Colonel on July 1, 1992, to Colonel on July 1, 1996, to Brigadier General on
July 1, 2001. Assumed the following posts: Beiteddine Unit Chief, Commander of Nabatiyeh
Unit, Beirut Judiciary Squad Chief, Coastal Brigade Chief, Commander of Aley Unit,
Commander of Tripoli's Judiciary Squad, Commander of the Training Courses at the ISF
Academy, Commander of the Displaced Brigade, Commander of Beiteddine Brigade, Chief of the
Apparatus Department at Beirut Police Headquarters, Commander of Zgharta Brigade, Chief of
the Vehicles' Service, Commander of the Public Administrations and Institutes' Security
Group, Chief of the Training Departement at the Council of Commanders of The ISF.
Predecessor: Brigadier General Omar Mekkawi
Awards: Awarded more than 50 commendations, and a financial reward from
the Director General of the ISF and the Chiefs of Departments, as well as several
decorations.
