Abdallah Farhat,
Minister of the Displaced
 Place and Date of Birth: Born in Hammana in 1964. Son of lawyer and former MP Victor Farhat.
Sect: Maronite.
Marital status: Single.
Education: Higher degree in special
law, and doctorate degree in banking law from the Sagesse University and Saint
Joseph University.
Professional Background: Former Dean of the Sagesse Law Department,
currently law professor. Issued several Publications on various legal and literary
matters. Headed the committee of literary, psychological and commercial intellectual
property rights at the International Chamber of Commerce. Participated in the work of the
Reform Committee for the eradication of corruption.
Political Career: Elected Baabda-Aley MP in 2000. Member of
Jumblatt’s parliamentary bloc, member of the parliamentary committee for
administration and justice and committee for youth and sports.Appointed Minister of
Displaced in Rafic Hariri's fifth cabinet (April 17, 2003-) .
Current Political Status:
Minister of the Dispalced and Parliament Member.
