Education: Bachelor of Laws, 1962 (Saint Joseph University, Beirut), Doctor of Laws, 1972 (Saint Joseph University, Beirut) .
Professional Background: Former Judge (1965 - 1993): member of the Beirut Trade Court, member of the High Court, single judge of Batroun Court, president of the Primary Court in North Lebanon, North Lebanon Penal Court counsellor, director and then president of the Institute of Judicial Studies, Military Committing Magistrate, president of the Private Banks Court. Professor of Law at the Lebanese Unversity, Minister of Finance in Rachid Solh government (16 May 1992 - 30 Oct 1992), Rector of the Lebanese University (1993 - 2001), Minister of Social Affairs in Rafic Hariri government (October 26, 2000-April 17, 2003).
Current Political Status: Minister of Social Affairs.
