Movement Leader General Michel Aoun
announced Thusday (June 2, 2005) an incomplete list for the northern Metn electoral
constituency. The list included former army General Edgar Maalouf (Catholic),
current MP Ghassan Moukhaiber (Greek Ortodox), Ibrahim Kenaan
(Maronite), Salim Salhab (Maronite) and Nabil Nicholas
(Maronite). The list did not include candidates for the
Greek Orthodox seat, Armenian Orthodox seat and the fourth Maronite seat in northern Metn.
However, electoral alliances later pointed to an alliance with current Deputy Speaker MP Michel
Murr whose list includes, besides himself, Tachnak Armenian Orthodox candidate Hagop
Pakradonian.
Metn MP Nassib
Lahoud announced an electoral list for the northern Metn supported by Qornet Shehwan
Gathering, the Democratic Renewal Movement and the Lebanese Forces. The list included
current MP Nassib Lahoud, current MP Pierre Gemayel, Wadih
Hajj and Eddy Abi Lamaa (Lebanese Forces) for the Maronite
seats. It also included Qornet Shehwan Gathering member Gabriel Murr and Michel
Akl for the Orthodox seats, Rafi Madoyan for the Armenian
Orthodox seat and Philippe Maalouf for the Catholic seat.
Other Leading candidates included Syrian
National Socialist Party (SNSP) Candidate Ghassan Al Ashqar, Sarkis
Elias Sarkis and Qaisar August Bakhos for the Maronite seats.

(General Aoun's FPM list won all Metn seats with the exception of the List's 4th vacant
Maronite seat which was won by MP Pierre Gemayel).
