Professional background: Journalist, member of  the Workers League, honorary member of the Association of Sociologists of the Democratic Republic of Korea. Founded the Resistance Broadcast in 1985. Editor in Chief of Al Diyar Daily (1990). Former  president of the National Council for Audiovisiual Media.
Political background: Elected Beirut MP in 2000 on Hariri’s electoral list. Member of Hariri's Parliamentary Beirut Decision Bloc.
