Graduated from Freres School in Ras Beiurt. Obtained two Law degrees, the first the Lebanese University, and the second form Saint Joseph University. Attended a course at the Higher French Police Academy.
Professional Career: Joined Lebanon's General Security Directorate on August 28, 1972. Promoted to Brigadier General in 1992. Resigned on May 15, 1999. Currently in charge of the the Lebanese Official Hajj (pilgrimage) Affairs Delegation.
Polotical Background: Appointed Minister of Interior and Municiapal Affairs in Najib Mikati's cabinet (April 19, 2005 - July 19, 2005). Appointed Minister of Interior and Municiapal Affairs in Najib Mikati's cabinet (July 19, 2005 - ).
Current Political Status: Minister of Interior and Municipal Affairs.
