Hezbollah denies responsibility for firing rockets on Israel

BEIRUT -- The Lebanese organization Hezbollah declared on Saturday it was not responsible for firing rockets in the direction of Israel from southern Lebanon earlier today.

Hezbollah said in a statement it has no relation whatsoever with the unleash of the missiles in the direction of Israel from the south of Lebanon.

The Palestinian Fatah movement in Lebanon also denied any link to the attacks.

Meanwhile, shortly after Israeli gunners lobbed shells into southern Lebanon in retaliation for the attack, Lebanese Army troops inspected the location of firing missiles and located two launchers that were used for unleashing the pair of rockets.

Unidentified gunmen fired the rockets early today near the border village of Al-Hennieh.

International peacekeepers and Lebanese troops were deployed in the region where the missiles were fired. -Kuna
