| Lebanese defense minister
holds talks with Mubarak CAIRO -- Visiting Lebanese Defense Minister Elias Al-Murr discussed with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak developments in the situation in Lebanon and the region on Wednesday. Egyptian Minster of Defense Hussein Tantawi participated in the meeting that discussed mutual cooperation between Egypt and Lebanon especially in the domain of defense as Egypt had expressed its keeness on supporting and supplying Lebanese Army with the needed equipment, Egyptian Television reported. Mubarak met yesterday with the member of the Lebanese of Parliament Saad Al-Hariri, also leader of a parliamentary coalition, who after the meeting said that Egypt will always support Lebanese Army, and that the Lebanese Minister of Defense will discuss empowering Lebanese Army to enable it to protect Lebanon, and stop foreign interference. |
