Lebanon oil find at 4,000 meters below seabed: Minister
By Nadim Issa, Bloomberg

Lebanon’s offshore oil find in the Mediterranean Sea has been located at 4,000 meters (13,100 feet) below the seabed, daily An-Nahar said, citing Minister of Energy and Water Alain Tabourian and a Norwegian study.

The reserve may be enough to meet domestic demand with a surplus that can be exported, the newspaper said, citing Tabourian.

Tabourian said yesterday that Lebanon and Cyprus have agreed on a maritime boundary and that the ministry will present maps to the parliament for ratification and then submit them to the United Nations, An-Nahar said.

Tabourian also said that a draft law for oil drilling will be completed in two months and sent to the government to be submitted to parliament for approval, the newspaper reported.
