| Hezbollah says Lahoud's
options "constitutional" BEIRUT, Lebanon - Hezbollah said Thursday options before President
Emile Lahoud vis-a-vis the situation in Lebanon were "constitutional" which
would safeguard the interests of all Lebanese people.
MP Mohammad Raad, representing Hezbollah in the parliament, told reporters after a meeting
with Lahoud that the situation in Lebanon was "deteriorating."
He accused the government of carrying out "constitutional violations and illegal
practices." Raad, on the dialogue between the Lebanese parties in Paris, said
Hezbollah has welcomed the dialogue and confirmed their participation.
"We believe there will be a positive atmosphere (of this dialogue) and might
establish a solution paving way for the transformation of Lebanon to another phase,"
he said.
Raad said the opposition was in agreement that the way out of the political dispute in
Lebanon should be through the constitution.
Commenting on the clashes between the Lebanese army and the Fatah Al-Islam militants in
Nahr Al-Bared camp, the Hezbollah MP said his party was fully behind the Lebanese army.
He called for the prosecution of the aggressors to end the conflict. -Kuna |
