| MK Bishara meets with
Lebanon election victor, Sa'ad Al-Hariri By Yoav Stern MK Azmi Bishara met on Monday with the leader of the Free Lebanon movement, Sa'ad Al-Hariri, son of the slain former Prime Minister Rafik Al-Hariri. The meeting took place while Bishara was in Beirut in order to give a lecture at the American University on the subject of pluralism and democracy. Bishara also held meetings with the incoming and outgoing Lebanese prime ministers, Fuad Senyora and Najib Miakti, and met with the families of the two most recent victims of political assassination: Journalist Samir Kasir and the former leader of the communist party, George Hawi Bisahra and MK Ahmed Tibi (Hadash-Ta'al) have both visited Lebanon twice each since the assassination of Al-Hariri a few months ago and see in these visits an opportunity to strengthen their ties with the Arab world. The visit takes place despite the fact that Attorney General Meni Mazuz recently announced that he will open up a police inquiry against Tibi for visiting an enemy state. |
