Cross sends 208 tonnes of equipment to Lebanon PARIS - The French Red Cross said in a statement on Tuesday that it would send 208 tonnes of health and sanitary equipment to Lebanon, with the first shipment leaving on Thursday. "Four tonnes of equipment for the refurbishment of 55 ambulances and 205 hygiene kits will be delivered," the organisation said. The hygiene kits are enough for 100,000 people for one month. The conflict between Lebanon's Hezbollah militia and the Israeli armed forces killed 1,187 people and left 4,092 wounded in Lebanon, with 250,000 still displaced at the beginning of September, according to the latest available data from the World Health Organisation. |
