BEIRUT, Lebanon - US President George W. Bush will meet Lebanon's parliamentary majority leader Saad Hariri -- the son of murdered former premier Rafiq Hariri -- during a visit to the United States this week, an aide to the MP said on Sunday.

Hariri, whose father was killed last February 14 sparking international and domestic outrage, will start his visit on Monday and will hold talks with US officials and members of Congress, the source told AFP.

He will meet Bush on Friday.

The murder sparked a US and French-led United Nations campaign which in April ended Syria's near three-decade military presence in its tiny neighbour.

Saad Hariri's talks will focus on the situation in Lebanon and in the region and on the UN inquiry into his father's murder which many Lebanese blame on Syria.

Damascus has vehemently denied involvement in the killing and says Beirut has become a launch-pad for anti-Syrian conspiracies.
