| Lebanon says it is still
Israeli target Beirut, Lebanon, Jul. 31 (UPI) -- The chief of Lebanon's army said Saturday his country is still an Israeli target and called for "constant preparation to face aggression." Gen. Michel Suleiman said in a message to his soldiers on the occasion of Army Day, which is marked on Sunday, the Israeli "enemy is planning to target our territories, stability and resistance, and this calls for your constant preparation and vigilance to confront all types of aggression." Suleiman also called for strengthening coordination with the "brotherly Syrian army, which serves the interests of Lebanon and Syria." Lebanon coordinates its policies with Syria, which has had forces in Lebanon since 1975 to assist in ending the civil war there that lasted 15 years and ended in 1990. |
