Czech Foreign Minister calls for constructive dialogue in the Middle East

BEIRUT, Feb 28 (KUNA) -- The Czech Foreign Minister Cyril Svoboda here called on Saturday all of the disputing parties in the Middle East region to hold a constructive dialogue, in order to arrive at a just and a comprehensive agreement to end violence in the region.

Svoboda, who is currently visiting Lebanon, said in a press conference held with his Lebanese counterpart Jean Obeid after conducting talks that a dialogue is a necessity in order to attain peace, emphasizing the Lebanese role in such a dialogue.

The Czech Foreign Minister demanded all of the concerned parties in the region to be committed to all of the obligations and the UN resolutions concerning to the ongoing conflict.

"The Czech Republic became an active member in the EU," said Svoboda emphasizing that his country will play an important role to attain peace in the region as part of the EU's efforts.

He appreciated all of the efforts aiming to stop acts of violence and killing and the attempts to spread democracy, stressing the Arab leaders' good intentions to achieve such goals.

Meanwhile, Minister Obeid confirmed that resistance is a lawful right to expel the occupiers, calling for holding an international conference for peace.
