Authorities say 5 Palestinians behind restaurant
bombings
Gangs whereabouts unknown Authorities
investigating the three bombs that targeted three US-style fast food restaurants last week
have blamed the attacks on five Palestinians.
State Prosecutor Adnan Addoum said Monday that the perpetrators of last weeks
attacks had also carried out similar attacks against restaurants on April 25 of this year.
The restaurants targeted last week were Pizza Hut in Tripoli and Pizza Hut and Winners
in Maameltein. The bombings did not cause any casualties.
The five Palestinians were named as Ali A. and Abdel-Rahman A., both from the Bourj
al-Barajneh camp, and Mohammed Abdel-Rahim, Hussein H. and Nasser A., from the Nahr
al-Bared camp in the North.
The latter is a suspected arms dealer who allegedly was involved in the Dinnieh uprising
of January 2000.
The authorities are uncertain of the exact whereabouts of the five.
